Orma 60 – Sophia (ex Paradox)
Sophia is an immaculately maintained racing trimaran in turnkey condition, originally launched in 2010 as Paradox and previously known as Shockwave and Paradox3. Conceived by original owner Peter Aschenbrenner as a detuned ORMA 60, she was designed to race or cruise at high speed shorthanded — capable of 600 nautical miles a day, and built for comfort and safety in equal measure.
She has an impressive offshore racing record, including class wins in multiple international long- and short-distance races and podium finishes across the IMA Caribbean Maxi Challenge. During the RORC Caribbean 600 she recorded a boat speed of 29 knots.
Refitted in 2015, 2019, and 2024, Sophia combines genuine race performance with proportions and engineering that make her a pleasure to sail — the rig, crossarm length, and overall dimensions all working together to produce a boat that feels both fast and reassuringly solid on the water.
