World ARC Leg 8 – Explore the archipelago of Marquesas

This leg, which both starts and ends in Nuku Hiva, allows for 13 days of exploration of the Marquesas, which are the epitome of oceanic volcanic islands, high volcanic mountains but without the barriers of coral reefs. This is the sailing for those of you who dream of coming to paradise in French Polynesia to explore the world’s most remote islands without long sailing passages. Sailing in a South pacific paradise with French food and Polynesian flavours on arrival!

Nuku Hiva is the largest of the islands and the administrative centre of the Marquesas. Taiohae Bay is a large, well-protected bay on the south coast and many cruisers can be found at anchor here. Although there are plenty of anchorages all around these islands that are well worth exploring. The sailing starts and ends on the island of Nuku Hiva spending 13 days island hopping between the group of islands. The sailing will include visits to all or part of the islands of Nuku Hiva, Ua-pou, Hiva-oa, Tahuata, Mohatani, Fatu-Hiva and Ua-Huku. You will experience a rare mix of adventure, culture, and nature in one of the world’s most untouched destinations.
